The BYD Dahan (Chinese: 比亚迪大汉; lit. Great Han), alternatively known in English as the BYD Great Han, is a battery electric and plug-in hybrid full-size sedan produced by BYD Auto from 2026 onwards. Alongside the BYD Datang, it is the flagship model of BYD’s Dynasty line of models.

Overview

Initially known as the Han 9 during January 2026 teasers alongside the Datang (referred to “Tang 9” then), the Dahan is BYD’s first F-segment (full-size) (Chinese “D-segment”) sedan. It was officially revealed on 11 June 2026.

Design

The Dahan adopts an exterior design based on BYD’s typical design language similar to the Han L, using the “Loong (dragon) Face” that includes thin headlights joined by a chrome-plated panel. It also features a floating roof due to the blackened pillars. Both 20-inch and 21-inch wheel designs are offered.

It features a similar interior to the Datang, featuring a 3-screen setup including a 12.3-inch driver display, 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 17.3-inch central display. Leather upholstery with real wood trim is offered. Additionally, the Dahan is equipped with a head-up display, either 25 or 31 speakers, soft-closing doors and electrochromic rear windows with an adjustable transparency.

Powertrain

Three powertrains of the Dahan have been revealed, including two battery-electric and one plug-in hybrid version. A rear-wheel-drive model with a single rear motor produces up to 370 kW (500 hp), has a top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph) and a CLTC driving range of 1,008 km (626 mi). An all-wheel-drive model adds a front motor that boosts power to 570 kW (760 hp), the top speed to 270 km/h (170 mph) but with a lowered range of 880 km (550 mi). The plug-in hybrid variant has a combined power output of 315 kW (422 hp), a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph) and a pure electric driving range of 370 km (230 mi).
