The CFMOTO UForce 1000 is a utility task vehicle (UTV), also known as a side-by-side, produced by the Chinese powersports manufacturer CFMOTO. Positioned as the brand’s flagship utility model, the UForce 1000 is designed to compete in the full-size UTV market, offering a combination of power, payload capacity, and features intended for both work and recreational use. It is engineered to handle demanding tasks on farms, ranches, and large properties while also providing capabilities for trail riding and outdoor excursions.

The introduction of the UForce 1000 marked a significant step up for CFMOTO’s utility lineup. Compared to its predecessor, the UForce 800, the 1000 model features a larger displacement engine with a notable increase in horsepower and torque. This powertrain enhancement directly translates to superior towing and hauling capabilities. Additionally, the UForce 1000 introduced a more refined chassis, improved suspension components with greater travel, and a more modern cabin with enhanced ergonomics and standard features that were previously optional on earlier models.

Engine and Performance of the CFMOTO UForce 1000

At the core of the UForce 1000 is a 963cc liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve V-twin engine. This powerplant is managed by a Bosch electronic fuel injection (EFI) system, which ensures reliable starting and smooth power delivery across various altitudes and temperatures. The engine is tuned to produce a balance of high-end power and low-end torque, making it suitable for both slow, methodical work and faster-paced recreational riding.

Power is transferred through a CVTech automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). The transmission includes high and low range gears, as well as neutral, reverse, and park selections. A key feature of the drivetrain is the user-selectable 2WD/4WD system, which is complemented by a locking front differential. This allows the operator to switch between a more efficient 2WD for simple terrain and a full 4WD with a locked differential for maximum traction in challenging conditions like mud, snow, or steep inclines. The vehicle also features two electronic power modes, Work and Normal, which adjust the throttle response for either smoother control during tasks or more spirited performance.

Chassis, Suspension, and Utility

The UForce 1000 is built on a high-strength steel frame designed for durability and rigidity under heavy loads. The suspension system consists of a dual A-arm independent setup on both the front and rear axles. This design, combined with gas-charged, preload-adjustable shock absorbers, allows each wheel to move independently, maximizing tire contact with the ground and providing a smoother ride over rough terrain. The vehicle boasts significant suspension travel, which helps absorb impacts and maintain stability.

Utility is a primary focus of the UForce 1000’s design. It features a large, durable cargo box at the rear, typically rated for a capacity of 1,000 lbs (454 kg). The cargo box is equipped with a gas-assisted or electric dump feature, simplifying the process of unloading materials like gravel, soil, or feed. For towing, the vehicle comes standard with a 2-inch hitch receiver and has a rated towing capacity of 2,000 lbs (907 kg). Many models also come equipped from the factory with a front-mounted 3,500 lb. winch, adding to its work-ready credentials.

The CFMOTO UForce 1000 is available in multiple configurations to suit different needs. The standard model features a single bench seat with capacity for three occupants. For users requiring more passenger space, CFMOTO offers the UForce 1000 XL. This crew model features a longer wheelbase to accommodate a second row of seating, increasing the passenger capacity to six.

The operator cabin is designed with both function and comfort in mind. Standard features often include a hard roof, a digital instrument cluster displaying vital information like speed, fuel level, and engine temperature, and multiple in-dash storage compartments. Modern amenities such as USB charging ports and a 12V outlet are also standard, reflecting the vehicle’s dual-purpose nature.
