2026 Harley-Davidson FXD Super Glide

The 2026 Harley-Davidson FXD Super Glide is a limited-production cruiser motorcycle manufactured by Harley-Davidson for the 2026 model year. The model marks the first use of the “Super Glide” nameplate since the Dyna FXD was discontinued after 2017. Harley-Davidson announced the 2026 FXD as part of its “Factory Custom Revival” program, with production limited to 2,500 serialized units worldwide.
Background
The original FX Super Glide debuted in 1971 as Harley-Davidson’s first “factory custom,” combining the front end of a Sportster with the frame and powertrain of a Big Twin. The nameplate ran through 2017 on the Dyna chassis before being retired during the Dyna-to-Softail platform consolidation.
For 2026, Harley-Davidson revived the FXD designation but built the motorcycle on the current Softail frame. The 2026 model uses White Onyx Pearl paint with red/white/blue tank graphics inspired by the 1971 FX. Unlike the base Softail Standard, the 2026 Super Glide receives the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, a 5-gallon fuel tank, 10-inch mini-ape handlebars, and chrome tubeless laced wheels.

Harley-Davidson lists MSRP at $18,999 in the United States. Each motorcycle is individually serialized from #0001 to #2500. Distribution began in Q2 2026, with U.S. dealers receiving 1–5 units based on prior year sales volume. As of June 2026, California, Texas, and Florida received the largest state allocations. The model is sold as in-stock inventory only; Harley-Davidson is not accepting custom factory orders for the FXD.
The 2026 Super Glide competes in the mid-premium cruiser segment. It is positioned above the $14,399 Softail Standard FXST and below the $22,499 CVO Street Glide. Key differentiators versus the Softail Standard include a 117ci vs 107ci engine, 120 lb-ft vs 110 lb-ft torque, 5.0-gal vs 3.5-gal tank, and factory mini-apes vs drag bars.

Design and Features
The FXD uses a mild steel tubular Softail frame with a hidden monoshock rear suspension. Styling emphasizes chrome and period-correct cues: gaiter-covered 49mm front forks, chrome laced wheels, 2-into-1 exhaust, and bullet-style LED turn signals. The solo seat is two-up capable. Controls are mid-mount.
Instrumentation consists of a 5-inch analog speedometer mounted on the tank with digital readouts for gear, fuel level, ride modes, odometer, trip, range, and tachometer. The bike includes ABS, traction control, drag-torque slip control, and TPMS as standard. It does not include infotainment, navigation, or cornering-enhanced linked braking.
