CFMOTO ZFORCE 800 Maintenance Guide

Always follow the service schedule in the Owner’s Manual and use genuine parts. If you are not familiar with mechanical procedures, maintenance should be performed by a qualified dealer or technician.

Service intervals are based on normal riding conditions (average 30 km/h / 19 mph). Service more frequently if the vehicle is used under severe conditions, including mud, water, sand, racing-style riding, heavy loads, extended idling, low-speed operation, or frequent short trips in cold weather.

1. Lubrication System

All moving components must be inspected and lubricated regularly, especially in wet or dusty environments.

Component Specification
Engine Oil SAE 15W-40, API SG or higher
Brake Fluid DOT 3 or DOT 4
Front Differential SAE 80W-90 GL-4
Rear Gearcase SAE 80W-90 GL-4
Chassis fittings, pivots Grease

2. Engine Oil

Engine oil condition and level are vital. Rising oil level in cold weather may indicate contamination — change oil immediately if this occurs.

Oil Capacities

Condition Liters US Quarts
First replacement 3.0 L 3.17 qt
Without filter change 2.8 L 2.96 qt
With filter change 2.9 L 3.06 qt
Oil radiator (after first start) 0.5 L 0.53 qt
Oil radiator (after service) 0.45 L 0.48 qt

Drain bolt torque: 30 N·m
Oil filter cover bolt torque: 10 N·m

Always warm the engine before draining oil and check for leaks after refilling.

3. Air Filter

A clean air filter prevents engine wear and overheating.

  • Clean foam element using high flash-point cleaner
  • Do not use liquid cleaner on paper element
  • Replace every 50 hours or 1,500 km (930 miles)
  • Replace more often in dusty areas
  • Never run engine without an air filter

4. Cooling System

Use only ethylene glycol coolant with corrosion inhibitors for aluminum engines. A 50/50 antifreeze–distilled water mix is recommended, or premixed coolant.

Specification Liters US Quarts
Total capacity 2.9 L 3.07 qt
Replacement amount 2.8 L 2.96 qt
Reservoir 0.3 L 0.32 qt

Coolant drain bolt torque: 10 N·m
Never open radiator cap when hot.

5. Front Differential

Condition Liters US Quarts
Periodic service 0.28 L 0.30 qt
Total capacity 0.33 L 0.35 qt

Plug torque: 25 N·m

6. Rear Gearcase

Condition Liters US Quarts
Periodic service 0.25 L 0.26 qt
Preliminary fill 0.30 L 0.32 qt

Plug torque: 25 N·m

7. Spark Plugs

Specification Value
Type NGK DCPR8E
Gap 0.8–0.9 mm (0.031–0.035 in)
Torque 20 N·m

Light tan insulator color indicates proper combustion.

8. Battery

  • Type: Maintenance-free
  • Capacity: 12V 30Ah
  • Store fully charged if not used for over a month
  • Use only a specified battery charger

Avoid contact with electrolyte and keep away from sparks.

9. Brakes

  • Replace brake pads when lining reaches 1.5 mm
  • Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid
  • Keep fluid above minimum mark
  • Water contamination lowers boiling point

Brake service should be handled by a professional.

10. Wheels & Suspension

Item Torque
Wheel nuts (front/rear) 55 N·m

Inspect wheel bearings, CV boots, and grease fittings regularly.

11. Lights & Electrical

  • Check all lights before riding
  • Replace headlight bulbs with gloves
  • Use correct fuse ratings only

12. Fuel & Air Control

The throttle body and idle speed are controlled by EFI and require no manual adjustment. Incorrect adjustment can cause engine damage.

Idle speed: 1,300 ± 100 RPM

13. Valve Clearance

Valve clearance changes with use and must be checked periodically by a dealer to prevent engine noise and performance loss.

Final Advice

Regular inspections, proper fluids, and correct torque values prevent major repairs. Severe riding conditions require more frequent service.

When in doubt — see your dealer.
